Ms. Casey Griffin, Autism Teacher

My name is Casey Griffin, and I an Autism Teacher at Wood Elementary in Arlington, Texas. I am also the founder of Exceptional Faith Learning, an organization dedicated to providing services for children with autism and their families. Last month, I had the pleasure of meeting Reeshan Waghmare, who shared his passion for working with children on the autism spectrum. He firmly believes that all children, regardless of their disability, should have the opportunity to learn about STEM and robotics, with the goal of developing vocational skills for adulthood. His vision of creating an inclusive learning environment resonated with me, and I invited him to visit our school campus to introduce our students to robotics and STEM.

Before Mr. Waghmare’s visit to Wood Elementary, he worked closely with me to ensure that all logistics and systems were in place. When he arrived, the students were excited and eager to explore the stations he had set up, with the support of his family and special education teachers. Each student had the opportunity for hands-on experience with the activities. Mr. Waghmare skillfully provided opportunities for free-play, guided practice, and independent tasks, ensuring that every student was engaged. The level of interest was so high that all students participated fully. At the end of the session, the students were brought together as a group and asked to share what they enjoyed most.

Mr. Waghmare was both prepared and punctual. His materials were well-organized and tailored to meet the needs of our students. The students were reluctant to say goodbye, which speaks to the positive impact of his visit. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Mr. Waghmare, and I am grateful for the resources and support your team (InspiKids) provided to make this experience possible. I look forward to the continued development of this program.

Sincerely,

Speaker, Deaf-Blind Self Advocate

“I met Reeshan when he reached out to me for a sit down interview. Our topic was self-advocacy. From the beginning, I was impressed with his attention to details and the amount of preparation he did before the interview to understand about disability and special education challenges. I was impressed with the way he interviewed and could change questions based on the conversations. He was professional and I enjoyed our conversation. I learned a lot by observing his interviewing skills and will use it in my journalism class when I have to interview other people. Wishing you all the best, Reeshan.”
